Chartered on June 7, 1969, the NAWIC Hartford CT Chapter 165 has members who work in a variety of positions within the construction industry
- From office managers to project managers - from tradeswomen to engineers - anyone who is interested in becoming an active participant in the construction community.
The common bond among the members is their desire for self-improvement and service to the construction industry.
Seminars and workshops are held to inform members about the construction industry and provide professional development. Additionally, chapter members have supported one another over the last 50 years, educating women and the general public about the opportunities that exist in construction through:
- Co-sponsoring the WBE 360 Contractor Development Program with industry partners The Metropolitan District Supplier Diversity Program(MDC), Connecticut Construction Industries Association (CCIA) and University of Hartford’s Entrepreneurial Center & Women’s Business Center (EC)
- Presenting awards for construction industry advocacy and leadership
- Sponsoring the NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF) Block-Kids Contest and CAD/Design Contest
- Participating in Habitat for Humanity Build-a-Thon and Women's Build
-Founding the Preliminary Awareness of Construction Trades Training Program (PACTT)
